What's a girl to wear this Summer?

Winter is over but how's a girl to know what-to-wear and what-not-to for Spring Summer 09? Don't fall off the fashion wagon, here's our guide to this season's fashion must-haves:

• Chanel inspired monochrome: Spring 2009 Chanel Couture show by Karl Lagerfeld had a stream of white, and then black and white ensembles. We love how translates into this season's nautical and maritime red, white, blue or black stripped combination.

• Oversized blazers: No more cardis to cover those bare shoulders this season. Invest in a blazer quick as they won’t stay in store. Get a slightly oversized black and white one and be bold and daring with one in another colour. Its going to be my trademark casual look for Summer. I'll wear my blazer with shorts, Liberty's and Cacharel inspired floral dresses, bling and heels.

• Floral print frocks: The trend predictions for the SS09 point to the floral dress as remaining one of the must-have items for the fun loving style set. Work it with booties or flats.

• Nude hues: A hard one to pull off! As inspired by Hermes and other designers there will be lots of nude accessories this season. But to wear this with ease the style team at CHIC in the City will be topping up our tans beachside, as au natural is back and bottle tan is out.

• Crazy crop of colours: Kooky colours were an enduring theme during New York Fashion Week SS09. Break all the colour rules we ever taught you! Mix contrasting colours together to be this season's queen of fashion. We love the relaxed attitude to colour, where folkloric and abstract patterns and colours, that traditionally clash, are the hot looks for Summer.

• Harem pants: We've seen the dreaded diamond shape return with this pant shape. For us more curvy, hourglass, trianglar shaped girls lets give this one a miss! Great if your shape is rectangular or inverted triangle. As much as I'd love to, I'll cop flak for this but I simply can't pull this one off . I am blessed with curves (hips). For all you model shaped felines, knock yourself out. The cinched waist and tappered ankle is the pantaloon of the season.
